To fix the noise issue, simply removing the batteries does nothing. You cannot keep this toy out if you have a napping small child and a playing older child.
Bad for migraine sufferers. You cannot talk on the phone, have a conversation with someone in the same room, or sleep if someone is playing with this toy.
I hate this toy, which is a shame because both my 17 month old boy and almost 3 year old girl loves it. While they were playing with the lawn mower, we was unable to hear or communicate easily with the grandparents on our web cam because of the noise level.
Terrible for pets/kids with fear of loud noises.Great if you keep it outdoors and your neighbors don't mind. The little head on the mower chomps very, very noisily when pushed.
We were gifted this by the grandparents for Christmas, along with the playskool vacuum which we love and isn't terribly loud.
Would recommend this to anyone considering a purchase of this type. His mom and dad banished it to the outside only, LOL.payback is harsh. Fast delivery too. This was bought by Grandma for our two year old grandson's birthday and he loved it. Alittle noisey but hey that's what two year olds like.
I didn't experience the vulgar language that some reviewers complained about. My 2-yr-old loves this thing. My son mows our rugs at least once a day. It's noisy, but that's expected with toddler toys. There is no way I could write a bad review for the [.]. I paid for it.

We wanted a toy for our 14mth old to push around the house and out on the lawn and I decided to buy this one because it was on sale and came with the bonus zip cutter. I was bit concerned about all the bad reviews regarding the phrases that Mike says but after listening to the toy, I really don't know what all the fuss is about.
Other than that it's fun for him. The phrases aren't obnoxious like some other reviewers have said. My 16 month old son likes to play with Mike the Mower around the house. My son likes when Mike the Mower "talks to him" and the mower says his little phrases. I recommend Mike the Mower to any child who likes to push things around. He also plays with it outside. It can't really be pushed on the grass though - and the grass is normal height (the grass gets cut every week).
